If you found your answer/ pick a solution!! If low/mediumm is your target why not an 850m or 840m combined with an i5 maybe 4210? Budget is not really an issue but there's a 130€ difference (and a +8gb ram which I wouldn't need anywway) and given my needs I'm not sure if it's worth it So basically, the amount of memory only affects texture size, resolution and AA? like I've said, I'm getting an upper-middle gpu just for Fallout 4 (if it will ever be made), I wouldn't mind playing it with low or medium settings with the 2 gb version at all I'm pretty sure both are Maxwell, btw. IMPORTANT- make sure you get the 4gb maxwell(GM107 chip i think,just check it) and NOT the kepler THere ought to be a few FPS difference between the 2gb and 4gbĤ.You can always reduce the AA / texture quality if you take a hit If you have 8gb ram, it is more than enough ( well, i have seen it utilization at a max of 5gb during intense gaming)ģ. Now i win 7+ you can use a bit of your RAM (normaly it is 1gb) when your inbuilt VRAM is less(though it is a bit slower). SOM - high text, ultra AA ,everythig else - 2506MBĢ. I agree that the 860m doesnot have the HP for 4gb, I have a 2gb 860m, it can run ost games on ultra 1080p at 40FPS (witcher 2,shadow of mordor- jst with high textures everything else ultra)Įven though many system requirements have been bloated it is good to have a bit of an extra VRAM
